We manufacture a product...I wonder if the witnesses that know us will stop buying for fear we'll contaminate them?

It's hard to believe there is so much superstition among the witnesses (FEAR!). I used to fear buying something at a 2nd hand store or a yard sale, that it would be demonized, and I'd bring them home!

anyone remember back 15 years or so ago when some brothers used to think mars bars were made with lecithin derived from blood .. we had a sister call the company and interrogate them.
funny.. .
I remember worrying that some glue and fertilizers also had blood in them. We were told we could call the manufacturers to find out for sure. Extreme beliefs forsure.

apupi - illinois.
local jw, susan estrogen, recalls her horror when she first saw the large, orange vegetables on the porch.
"there i was between breaks while out on field service when i saw it!
A sister in Portland put straw bales, gourds etc on her front porch and the brothers called telling her they should come down (since then she has exited). About 10 years ago, our daughters made a wreath of pinecones and flowers on to place above our fireplace (in the spring, not even around xmas) and an elder made a comment about it. I kept it hanging. One just has to enjoy the colors of fall and everyone thinks you're "pagan". Conformity, no matter what. Everyone think alike.
"yes i have anger.
i've been angry at christianity for years.
that doesn't mean i don't love the people who've been brainwashed though.".
When you spend your whole life (50+ years) believing wholeheartedly you have the one and only "truth", it's a shock to the system for sure to learn you've believed a lie. We have been out over 4 years now and still, we'll read something on JWD and wonder how in the world we didn't leave earlier. I think when you invest your life in this religion, it's something like losing someone in death. You mourn, are angry, cry, are fearful, etc. It takes time to feel OK with yourself. I'd like to put the whole thing behind us but there is still family very active, some of whom are not shunning us...so it'll take awhile longer.

hi everyone, just would like a bit of advice on how to 'corner' my ex jw mates so they see im right with only what their publications say and with the bible?
i have a few ideas up my sleave but i was hoping to get a few other good examples on other topics like the blood thing, but only prove them wrong using their material, that way they cant say its 'apostate' (although you never know what some jws will come up with these days).. for example whats the best and least confusing way to explain the blood thing?
we really need a reference on all of this so that we can make up a single letter that exsplains everything that they have contradicted themselves with and all the mixed up stuff they have done, straight to the point and soooo simple that even a jw can read and understand it (maybe a nice picture book with colouring in?).
A poster earlier today used this ilustration, as have I, regarding using fractions. My fathers doctor asked me twice how we could take fractions since we didn't take blood. As the drone that I was, I said I couldn't explain it but it was OK! How stupid. Knew something didn't sound right, but went along with it anyway.
The illustration was of a sandwich. You can eat the ham, cheese, mayo, lettuce, bread, etc. each by themselves, but you can't put it together as a sandwich and eat it. That's how rediculous it sounds to say you can take all the fractions, yet can't take the blood it comes from.
Also, witnesses say you must pour out the blood. How can you pour the blood out and produce fractions? You can't!
Even though witnesse say they don't take blood, in fact they do. You can't take a little blood, it's like saying you'll only steal a little. Stealing is stealing. Blood is blood, a little or a lot.

aint i a clever bastard?
i worded that there thread title so's i get you to read this and help my poor forgetful, used to remember, brain out and show me some documentation using jw's vs. christendom teachings on this question.
here's the question.. how do you prove to a jehovah's witness that the "great crowd" spoken of in the book of revelations is a group who's eternal hope is a "heavenly one" rather than a "seperate" group of jesus followers with a seperate eternal residential destiny?.
Let them show scriptures for the great crowds beginning in 1935. We have searched Rutherfords writings and can't find any scriptures, only assumptions! It's easy to "prove" something when you take scriptures out of context. Context, context, context!

i want to get a solid opinion on this chapter from everyone.
2nd corinithians 3 is a major set back for those who believe in keeping the 10 commandments.
possibly.
Basically it is the old covenant verses the new. The old is stripped away, leaving the new remaining. The new gives hope as well as freedom from the bondage and weight of the old law. Rom 7:6 says, " But now we have been discharged from the Law, because we have died to that by which we were being held fast, that we might be slaves in a new sense by the spirit, and not in the old sense by the written code." Hebrews chapters 8-10 also contrast these two codes.
As a side note, in the NWT, 2 Cor 3:17,18, the use of the name "Jehovah" is NOT a quote from the OT, as I always assumed! It has been added, leaving us to wonder if in fact it is really speaking about Jesus. There are numerous scriptures I have found with these incorrect additions.
here are the scanned copies i promised i would post.
thanks to my wonderful husband, he made it all possible, as he is a computer whiz!
these copies show the out and out deception on the part of the organization.
Even though everyone seems to be sick of 607 info, I think it's worth keeping to the fore for "lurkers" who havn't a clue that there is a mojor problem here. 607 is just one of many problems the Wt has.

this is something that has always puzzled me.
genesis 10 v 5 - "...the population was spread about in their lands according to its tongues".
genesis 11 v 1 - "...now all the earth continued to be of one tongue and one set of words".
I had a question on this when I first began "reading the Bible" several years ago. Did a little checking and still no concrete answers, but here's some of what I found. Gen 10:1 speaks of the history of Noah and his sons. 10:5 says the population spread "according to its tongue". Strongs #3956 says it is language, speech etc. 11:1 uses "language". Strongs #8193 says it means talk, speech, words. 11:1 also says all the "earth". Strongs #776 says earth, land, country, field, etc.
So I wonder if the entire world had the same language, as we think of language today, or was it their area?
